Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding & Offshore Co., Ltd. (SWS Offshore) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS), which is the largest and most efficient shipbuilding company in China and one of Top Ten shipyards in the world, integrating the experience and expertise in engineering, procurement and construction of offshore and shipbuilding. SWS Offshore covers a total planned area of 1 million square meters and 1000m waterfront, Phase I construction will be completed in 2010, and it shall be equipped with advanced facilities and equipments dedicated for offshore, such as 300t/m line payload slipway, 400t Crane, modules fabrication shops and, painting shops, and efficient off-loading and transportation facilities. Its annual completion products will include 2 semi rigs, 2 jack-up, 1000 special structure blocks and 50 living quarter modules, with annual steel consumption up to 255,000 tonnes.

SWS Offshore is planned to have total 5000 employees, currently 200 engineering and design team, 150 project management personnel with international offshore project management backgrounds are involving the 6th Gen Semi rig project.  It offers total solutions from engineering, procurement, construction to commissioning for customers.
